Walmart Unveils Quicker Way to Reload Prepaid Cards

ABC Reiew

Reloading a prepaid card is a hassle for the millions of consumers who rely on such cards to make purchases. It usually requires them to pay for a reload card, which has a code that is used to load a prepaid card online or by phone.

Walmart is simplifying the process with the launch of its new Rapid Reload service.

"Through our partnerships with Green Dot, InComm and First Data, we are ensuring that the majority of prepaid cards available in the U.S. can be reloaded at Walmart," said Daniel Eckert, vice president of financial services for Walmart U.S., in a press statement.

Rapid Reload allows prepaid cardholders to reload with just a swipe at the register — no purchases of reload cards or codes.
